THIS IS WHO WE ARE

This is what we do for the joy of the King,
For His peaceable Kingdom,
For a world in despair.
And this is why we bring any hope we can give,
Any bread from the table,
Any touch of His hand.
This is what we do.
This is where we go.
This is why we sing.
This is how we live.
This is who we are.

Ho Ho Ho

Yep, I know it's November 15.  And I know we still have 12 days before Thanksgiving. Nevertheless, our tree is up, lit, and decorated. Bring it on all you nay-sayers and bah-humbuggers. We like Christmas...what can I say? Also, my iPod is shuffling about 300 songs I have on a single playlist.  At the moment is Reba McIntyre.  (Her voice is by NO MEANS my favorite, but I really like her, so I put up with the triphthongs she pronounces in every syllable she sings.  "Uh-ah-ee  suh-aw  muh-ah-mee  kee-ihs-sin Suh-an-tuh Cluh-aws . . . "

So, with all that being said, let me be the very first to wish you a Merry Christmas!!!!  (Now hurry up and deck your halls!)

HO ho ho! I am with you! I helped my friend put up his Christmas tree last night and bring in all his decorations from his garage...I have been listening to my collection of Holiday Cheer on my ipod for 2 weeks AND I just bought Kristin Chenoweth's and James Taylor's new Christmas albums on itunes! I have begun making all the space for my Christmas decorations in the house, and tomorrow will probably have my tree up...AND I just bought the cutest Santa Clause lid and rug set for my guest bathroom toilet! Yep...I love Christmas!

That's awesome.

It's never too early to put up the decorations and it's always too early to take them down.

Bring on the Christmas cheer!

do you have a fake tree? because i told brian we should set up next weekend and he says there are no trees until after thanksgiving. i think he is secretly hoping i will believe him.

with the maniac you were with the camera during the remodel, i'm thinking you should take a picture of your tree and post! i'd like to see it....

oh, and i must only slightly disagree with my bff blog friend, heidi. i think they can't go up too early, but when christmas is over, i'm ready for everything to come down. right away.

Yes, Diane, our tree is fake through and through. In fact, in all of our 36 Christmases together, we've NEVER had a real tree. Kinda sad, huh? SOME day we will...but Brian's right. They're not available until after Thanksgiving. It wouldn't be too smart to go up any earlier than that, anyway.

AND, I'm with you...I'm usually in the mood to clean up pretty quick after Christmas. But this year we do NYC, so it may be after New Years before we clean up.

Ahhh...I WAS a maniac with the cam, huh? Bet I bored everyone senseless. Sorry. (We had our first "real" meal today...cooking everything. Great!)

To Diane... one year, we kept our Christmas tree up until the end of FEBRUARY.

SEriously.

The next year when I was unwrapping the decorations, they were in FEB. newspaper.

How embarrassing.

But...that was a very stressful time for us. We didn't get to enjoy the Christmas season cause we were so busy...so we enjoyed it afterwards...
