THIS IS WHO WE ARE

This is what we do for the joy of the King,
For His peaceable Kingdom,
For a world in despair.
And this is why we bring any hope we can give,
Any bread from the table,
Any touch of His hand.
This is what we do.
This is where we go.
This is why we sing.
This is how we live.
This is who we are.

My swimming granddaughters . . .

I posted this video on my Facebook page . . . for those of you who aren't on FB, I thought I'd post it here as well.

This is Haley (5) and Lexi (3) swimming yesterday afternoon in the pool at our condo complex. They're both in lessons and they're both doing a great job.  I think they're really naturals.

Kristi also joined them in the swim, but had a bit of a "wardrobe malfunction" with her suit. She was in the original version of the video--along with her verbal commentary about the malfunction--I hadn't listened to the audio when I first posted, so wasn't aware of the blow-by-blow description.  If anyone happened to catch the video in the wee hours of the morning, they were treated to a very candid moment!  (Although there was nothing to see....just hear about!)  I deleted the original post first thing this morning.

So, enjoy the "G-rated" video!  :)

This is seriously SO impressive. BOTH of them are better swimmers than I am. Way to go, girls!

Now that I'm back at work (Monday), I just keep peeking at this video to remember how very special Saturday afternoon was for me. It was so great hanging with the kids at the pool!

Here is a good story...

We went to Mother's Beach today at the Harbor which is a pretty chill place to hang. But the problem is, there is a dropoff and you don't know how deep it goes...

So at one point, her friend's ball got thrown out pretty far away. The other mom told her son he was not allowed to go get it and he started balling. Haley said she was too scared to go out there, but the longer she watched him, she couldn't handle it. So she grabbed a boogie board and just started paddeling out to the ball. I took my coverup off and got ready to jump in and save her if I needed to. But nope, she did it.

And when she swam back to shore, he was SO HAPPY, and everyone was screaming for Haley. She was the hero. It was awesome! :o)
